Program Information
The 2023 Summer Kids Club Program will be held
ONLY at Lakeland Elementary.
This is open to all our district families.
NEW Change starting 2023:
1/2 day programming will be from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. Due to staffing shortages we will NOT run the normal 1/2 day any 5 hours this year. This will help us have enough staff on at the times needed. Any pickups after 12 will be charged a full day rate.
Children attending Summer School will be the only exception for 1/2 day PM rate. (Program director approval)
Summer School will be at Mill Creek this summer and kids will be bussed back to Lakeland for SKC.
Program Dates: Monday, June 24 - Friday, August 16, 2024
Closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, 2023
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Days: Monday through Friday
Elk Rapids Summer Kids’ Club Program is designed to provide a nurturing and enriching experience for school-age students, entering TK/K (age 4 yrs./9 mos.) through Fifth Grade. The program is sponsored by the Elk Rapids School District and is licensed by the State of Michigan’s Child Day Care Licensing Agency. All children in Kids’ Club must be registered.
Our philosophy is to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. This program will provide an atmosphere that will be conducive to meeting the physical, social/emotional and cognitive needs of the children it serves. The program will exist in an open, relaxed setting that includes an underlying structure with flexibility in order to meet the individual needs of each child.
Activities
The Summer Kids’ Club Program will be formatted around structured daily activities to include story time, physical fitness and movement, learning and play centers, arts and crafts, lunch, snack, outside time and a required quiet/rest time each day. No child is required to sleep, but each child is asked to rest quietly. The rest time may include soft music playing, quiet activities such as reading, coloring or puzzles.
The program will also include participation in the Elk Rapids Library Summer Reading Program, regularly scheduled field trips and a summer’s end celebration. Communication with parents about activities and events and signed permission slip for all field trips will be required. Some field trips do have an additional fee that is not included in the daily tuition rate.
We are going to have lots of fun with your child!!
Fees
Tuition rates can be found under the tuition information tab at the top of the page.
A non-refundable $50.00 deposit for each child is required with the enrollment form to reserve your spot. (NOTE regarding deposit: There will no longer be a tuition credit with the regestration fee.)
Tuition will be paid in advance weekly. Tuition for the upcoming
week is due on Friday of the current week. A minimum of two payments are required per month (every other week) to keep your account current.
Lunch
Lunch is the parent’s responsibility and should include a drink. We advise the use of a cold pack such as “Blue Ice” or freeze an extra juice box if items like lunch meat or yogurt are included in your child’s lunch.
Lunches must be labeled daily with child's name and date.
Snack
A nutritious snack and drink (juice or milk) will be provided twice a day.
