Good Morning CMS Families,

It is so hard to believe it is already the last week of October! I am proud of our fall sports teams and their accomplishments. We also have much to look forward to in the coming months. Please take a look at the information below and let me know if you have any questions.

Have an awesome week!

Halloween Spirit Day: 10/30/2020

We will be encouraging students to dress up for Halloween

These spirit days are part of our annual grade level competition (Dress up and earn points for your class.)

Costumes must meet dress code requirements

Weapons, look-alike weapons, and masks covering the eyes are not allowed

Students must still wear a regular mask

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

We are excited to be able to connect with parents for our annual parent-teacher conferences. As you probably expected there are some changes this year due to COVID.

Conferences will take place in classrooms (5 Minute Limit)

Even in a typical year, we have to limit the time due to the number of teachers each student has during the day

Limit conference to 2-3 teachers

Next Monday 11/2 we will be sharing teacher update videos for each class

We hope this will be enough information for many parents to understand what has happened so far this year, what to expect moving forward, and topics and questions you can talk about with your student

Conferences 11/5 4:00-7:00 @CMS

Masks Required at all times

We are requesting parents only

Please do not bring CMS students or younger children unless it is necessary

School Map and PowerSchool Quick Lookup printouts will be available in the cafeteria

Parent Visits/Item Dropoff/Student Pick Up

We are continuing our protocol of limiting the number of visitors to CMS.

Parents will not be able to enter the building unless there is an absolute need

Parents will be able to leave items for students and label them with a Post-It on the table in the front entryway

When picking up a student from school we will call the student down to meet you in the front entryway or in your vehicle

Please call a few minutes before arriving and we will be happy to have your student ready when you arrive

Positivity Project

We are excited to be entering our 2nd year of partnering with the Positivity Project

Each week students study one of 24 Character Strengths along with Other People Matter Mindset

We strongly encourage parents to take the VIA Character Strength Survey and check out more resources using the links below

Student Health Check Daily

We are thankful for parents and students who continue to play it safe when it comes to their own health and the health of others. If your student is not feeling well staying home and waiting until symptoms subside for 24 hours is required.

We are requesting parents review their students' health conditions each day before riding the bus or being dropped off at school

Students with fever, body aches, shortness of breath, sore throat, or sudden loss of taste/smell should stay home

Waiting 24 hours for symptoms to subside is required

Homework Page:

Students have learned how to utilize our CMS Homework page. It provides a quick summary of what happened or is planned each week.  In the event a student misses school the first step is checking the Homework page, checking student email, and signing into your Google Classroom.

Click Here to view the Homework Page

Remind School Communication:

At CMS we use the Remind app to help stay in touch with families. While each teacher uses it with a different level of frequency we encourage you to sign up for the classes and grade levels of your student.
