- Rental Fees:
Organizations using the Elk Rapids Peterman Auditorium will be charged a rental fee according to the following schedule, including any rehearsal/preparation time, as well as the performance or presentation. This fee is in addition to the cost of school approved custodial, supervisory, and/or technical personnel, if they are needed. Twenty percent of the rental fee shall be committed to the maintenance fund.

- Custodial Fees:
All sponsoring organizations in all Classes listed above must have a school district custodian on site while using the auditorium. Organizations in Classes III, IV, V, and VI will be charged $25.00/hour if this person (or these persons) must work beyond the normal work day, on a weekend, or holiday. A minimum of two hours will be charged.
- Technical/Supervisor Fees:
If any or all of the following are utilized by a sponsoring organization, a school-approved technician must be
utilized for rehearsals, performances, set-up and break-down time. If the
sponsoring organization intends to provide their own technician, that individual
must be approved by the school. Otherwise a school-approved technician will be
provided at a rate of $15.00 per hour. The technical fee for organizations in Class I and II will be assumed by the school. Organizations in Class III, IV, V and VI will be charged for this service. A minimum of two hours will be charged.
a. The use of any theatrical lighting
b. The use of the stage behind the main curtain
c. The use of any sound amplification
d. The use of the acoustical shells and/or ceiling panels
e. The use of music stands and/or chairs
f. The use of music stand lights
g. The use of the video projection system
h. The use of the grand piano
If the organization plans to use only the auditorium house lights and only that portion of the stage in front of the main curtain without any sound amplification or other items listed above, a technician is not required to be present.
- Supervisor Fees:
A school appointed supervisor must be on duty at all times when the auditorium is in use. If it is necessary to hire a supervisor, the rate shall be $15.00 per hour. A minimum of two hours will be charged. (The technician may be appointed supervisor for an event if it is deemed appropriate).
- Grand Piano:
If the sponsoring organization in Class III, IV, V or VI wishes to use the grand piano, they will be responsible for the cost of getting it tuned (if necessary) by a school approved piano technician at the prevailing rate, plus a $50.00 per event use fee.
- Admission Fees:
If an admission fee is charged for an event, the Elk Rapids Schools will assess the sponsoring organization 20 percent of the net proceeds. These will go into an enhancement fund for the further development of the auditorium.
- Fee Waiver:
All fees are waived if the auditorium performance is given expressly for students of the Elk Rapids School District and for non-profit organizations that are using the auditorium to solely benefit Elk Rapids School District students, e.g., the Miss Elk Rapids Pageants, because all the profit goes to scholarships and 4-H; it is a direct service to our students. Any fee for services may be waived in the case of community based groups that provide a volunteer(s) who have been approved for that particular task listed elsewhere in this section. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all fees.
