So many continue to support Elk Rapids Schools with their generous donations.  We are so grateful!  There are various ways in which you can support Elk Rapids Schools, either through some of the avenues listed here or given for use in the area of greatest need as determined by our Board of Education.  Whatever you choose, your dollars will be put to work in the Tradition of Excellence which characterizes Elk Rapids Schools.

• Friends of the Auditorium: Funds will be used to make improvements to our auditorium such as resurfacing the stage, updating the sound and light systems, etc. The auditorium is used for many of our school functions and performances as well as community functions such as the Miss Elk Rapids Pageant, Rotary Variety Show, various groups’ meetings, etc. For a $250 donation, you can “buy a chair” and select one seat in the auditorium on which we will place a personalized name plaque.
• Friends of the Arts: Funds will be used to support our vocal, performing and visual arts programs. Over 100 high school students are in our choir program alone.  The Arts Fund helps provide equipment and cover travel expenses for our choirs, offset costs for costumes, sets, and other expenses related to the Spring play and provide needed art supplies for the classroom.
• Finish the Dream: Funds will be used to enhance our athletic facilities including permanent lights for the track & field, the construction of eight tennis courts, building a restroom/concession stand/team room for the track & field, building a press box and concession stand for the soccer field, etc. For a $150 donation, you will receive a personalized brick to be placed in the Alumni Plaza at the entrance to the track & field.
• We Are E.R.! Dinner Auction: Our major fundraising event is scheduled for May 17th at the Grand Traverse Resort. Corporate Sponsors are being sought. For $1500, you will receive a table for 10 at the Dinner Auction, a VIP reception on the 17th floor and message board advertising on the scoreboards at the track & field (e.g. all home football games and track meets) as well the gymnasium (e.g. all home volleyball, basketball, wrestling, etc. events) for the ’08-’09 school year. Other monetary and/or auction item donations are also greatly appreciated.
• Band Boosters: Funds will be used to purchase equipment for the various band programs at the high school and middle school as well as help offset travel and camp expenses.

• Choir Boosters: With over 100 kids participating in a choir, the needs exist to help offset travel expenses for performances, purchase music, etc.

• Student Needs Fund: This fund is utilized to purchase items needed by individual students such as coats, hats, gloves, shoes, etc.

• Project Graduation:  A group of parents of seniors that work together to gather funds to offer a safe, all night, alcohol and drug free event that takes place the night of Commencement.

The above is just a partial list. There are over 33 athletic teams and many extra-curricular clubs and student organizations at the high school alone. You are welcome to designate funds to any group within the school for which you have a passion. We greatly appreciate the continued generosity and support of this community.
