Each year, starting in 2007, the Alumni Council at Elk Rapids Schools will select between 1-3 alumni to be recognized as Distinguished Alumni – the highest honor bestowed by the district. The alumni inducted will have exemplified, in their careers and communities, the “tradition of excellence” which continues to characterize and be the mission and focus of

Elk Rapids Schools.

Criteria:
• He/She must have attended Elk Rapids Schools, but need not have graduated.
• He/She must be recognized and distinguished in his/her field of endeavor, professional or volunteer.
• He/She must be a positive role model to current students.
